I was originally majoring in Business Administration, but because I wanted to experience the global business environment firsthand, I prepared to transfer to UBC.
The most important parts of the transfer process were managing my GPA and strengthening my English skills. Since UBC places strong emphasis on both, I invested significant time in studying for TOEFL and IELTS. I initially started with an IELTS score of 5.5, but through systematic preparation, I was able to achieve a final score of 7.0.
When writing my Statement of Intent, it was crucial not only to outline my academic plans, but also to clearly address questions such as: “Why UBC?” and “What kind of value will I create through studying Business Administration?”
Although the preparation process was not easy, it helped me develop both analytical thinking and self-expression skills.
Now, I am studying at UBC alongside students from all over the world, enjoying new challenges through networking and collaborative projects.
If you are preparing to transfer to a top Canadian university, or dreaming of studying in Canada, I highly recommend working with Teacher David—the one who can truly create something out of nothing!
