After finally achieving my long-time dream of permanent residency, I went through a period of burnout and felt unmotivated.
Then, out of the blue, I decided to take on a new challenge—pursuing Nursing—and registered for the IELTS exam without much thought.
Since I had taken the IELTS a few times during my PR process, I carried a baseless confidence that I would perform well. I decided to prepare on my own for about a month and randomly joined an IELTS study group.
That’s where I met Teacher David. He firmly advised me to postpone my exam, and following his advice turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Even though the exam date was approaching, I asked him rather abruptly to start tutoring me right away. Out of pure dedication as an educator, he took me under his wing and guided me with exceptional care.
At times he was strict, at other times warm, but his approach was always systematic. He helped me make the most of my strengths in Listening and Pronunciation, while building up my weaker areas.
Thanks to his personalized study plan and sincere feedback, I gained confidence and began to see real improvement. His strategic approach to Writing—analyzing my mistakes, providing examples, and teaching me structured methods—was especially transformative. On test day, I felt prepared and confident.
Beyond academics, he also supported me emotionally. He understood my test-related stress and anxieties, listened to my personal challenges, and gave me the psychological encouragement I needed.
With David’s help, I was able to achieve the score I wanted. More importantly, I gained a valuable lesson in learning itself.
I’m truly grateful to him, and I hope many more students and adults will be able to benefit from his genuine guidance and achieve their own goals!
